Player of the Match
π Player of the Match (POM)
The Player of the Match is awarded to the player who has made the greatest impact on the game through skill, effort, and teamwork. This recognition goes beyond just scoring or saving.
It celebrates overall contribution and influence on the teamβs performance.
Examples of what may earn Player of the Match:
- β½ A player who scores the most goals or creates key opportunities.
- π§€ A goalkeeper who keeps a clean sheet under intense pressure.
- πͺ A player who makes a crucial last-second save or defensive stop.
- β€οΈ A player who goes above and beyond for the team, showing leadership, determination, and teamwork.
- π₯ A goalkeeper who makes extraordinary saves even when the team is behind.
π Player of the Match (POM) Eligibility Guidelines
- General Eligibility:
All players are eligible for the Player of the Match (POM) award unless they have been selected as POM in either of the last two games. - Exception:
If no other player meets or exceeds the performance standards demonstrated by recent POM winners, the coach may choose to include those past winners in the nomination pool. - Restriction:
A player cannot win the POM award in consecutive games, even if re-nominated.
